BIO / MANIFESTO
Welcome, I’m Marcus — artist, creative and seeker.
I was born in Glasgow (1993) and now live in Edinburgh.
Previous Work (2015–2024)
After graduating from my music degree in 2015, I continued my creative journey along a different path; painting and printmaking. During this time, I created an art print business (We Love Prints). My work during this period was commercially focused, drawing on themes of pop culture, media and identity.
Following a spiritual awakening between 2021–2023, I began to move away from these earlier themes, which started to feel redundant. In 2024, I found myself exploring a new world: one shaped by deeper awareness and questioning. As I integrated this awakening, I began to radically reassess my creative motivations, purpose and mission as an artist.
The first step on this new path was Old Town Magick – a project rooted in esotericism and spirituality. This body of work celebrates old traditions and explores how art, symbolism, and “magick” can impress upon the subconscious mind, altering our perception of self, reality and our relationship to the universe.
Present Work (2025–)
I continue to follow a deeper, more meaningful calling in my work; tracing threads of mysticism and transformation through a web of disciplines including art, design, music and film. I now see my creative output as a kind of cartography, a way to map the process of awakening and becoming. Through my work, I invite others to contemplate our place within this vast, spiralling cosmos.
Stylistically, my work blends elements of visionary and conceptual art, esoterica, sculpture, music and film – all interwoven to form an immersive language that examines the nature of human experience. (See detailed artist statement here.)
Each project, series and composition is a thread in a larger tapestry – an unfolding inner world unified by symbolism, language and the philosophy of oneness. The aim of my work is to raise human consciousness, help others rediscover their true nature and leave the planet better than it is now. I’m motivated by the desire to enrich lives through creativity, to connect, uplift and awaken others. In the decade ahead, I intend to continue expanding my creative work across new mediums, reaching as many people as I can.
This website will serve as both a hub and an evolving archive of my creative contributions to the world. I hope it offers inspiration, joy, reflection and a spark of light to all who find it.
